I failed to mention, I will miss you  even though we havent spoken in a few years I have thought about you often, and something tells me you know that.

I have looked for you, I didnt know you were ill or gone..  You carried me thru some hard times when we worked together at Delta, you made me laugh when I wanted to cry. Im sorry we didnt keep in contact... you were wonderfull and I see how many people miss you.

I remember you as "Danny Settlemeier" -- the handsome little boy with the beautiful brown eyes who was very kind! No matter how old you got, you were always kind, and you were full of joy. You grew not only into a fine man, obviously, but a man of faith, a man who loved his family, and served our country. I am very impressed, and I know the world is a bit dimmer for having lost you. You are very loved, and I am glad that I got to know you as a child, and see what a beautiful person you became. I am only sorry that you were lost too soon. But the loss is not felt by you - only by us that you left behind. For you are in the most wonderful place possible - the arms of our Lord! Yay! :)

To my children and me, Dan was always Danny, the funny kid who loved super man and was determined to run around the neighborhood dressed in table cloths or anything else that served as superman's costume (much to his dad's consternation) and who was full of energy and fun. We enjoyed him immensely. We lost contact with Dan as an adult except for a couple of occasions and I am sorry that happened. It is comforting to know that he is safe in the arms of our Lord and that we will all gather one day. God bless all the family, I know it is very hard to say goodbye to a cherished family member even when it is only for a season.

Dan.. we both miss you even though we did not get to see you very much when you became an adult.  As a child you always seemed to know how to make us laugh.  We have many memories that are too numerous to mention.  Always did love to hear you sing.  Your singing came straight from your heart.   You were very proud of the fact that you came from the pioneer Settlemier family.   Love you,  Aunt Marilyn & Uncle Dick

I can't believe you are gone. I'm glad we had a chance to re-connect several years back thru Myspace. You will be missed! I will treasure my memories of our childhood friendship. I will always remember how you could make me laugh! I will see you again!

Wow, what a shock.  I remember how distraught you were about being laid off, and the many times we talked about the fact that everything happens for a reason, and how desperately you were trying to discover what that reason might have been.   Your family loved you so much, but just like you, they were human and doing their best.  We all loved you Dan.  You were obnoxious and wild, and even though that was annoying at times, it was also what we loved about you.  I am so sorry I was gone for the last few months.  I didn't even know you were sick.  I have felt you in my heart so much lately, and the morning that I found out about your death I reached for my phone to call you because I could not stop thinking about you, and was stopped from doing it by a call from my daughter with the news that you were gone.  I know how much emotional pain you were in, and maybe this was God's way of allowing you the peace that you deserved.  I will miss you, my friend. 

So sorry you left us mate.
All your mates at Wah Chang speak fondly of you.
To your kids...Your dad loved you more than you can ever know.He spoke of you all every day,and his love and concern for you.
So  extra sad we never knew until today you had already left us.

I love you, son.  You added lots of excitement to our family from Day 1, and you will be greatly missed. Wish we'd had more time with each other, but I'm looking forward to seeing you in heaven. It will be a glorious time! Love, Mom
